ORKNEY PORTER IS OVERALL KEG CHAMPION

ORKNEY PORTER IS OVERALL KEG CHAMPION

Orkney Porter has been named Overall Keg Champion at the annual SIBA BeerX competition.

Organised by the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), and held in Liverpool, BeerX is the UK’s largest beer and brewing trade event. The compeition is fiercely fought, being open to all SIBA’s 750+ brewing members.

Swannay’s Orkney Porter had progressed to the national competition after its success in the Scottish competition back in September 2024.

It really is a super accolade and high praise for the beer, holding its own and excelling against beers from breweries of all sizes up and down the UK. It’s also testament to founder Rob Hill’s mission for the brewery from day one - to make world class Orkney beers.

Orkney Porter is a luscious 9.0% beer fermented slow in the winter months with Swannay house yeast. It uses a blend of coloured malts and classic, noble hops to make an incredibly drinkable, complex and balanced beer, despite its strength.

In the competition overall, all the overall winners were from Scotland this year. Congratulations to our brewing peers.

Look out for Orkney Porter making its debut in cans later this year.
